New Delhi, Dec 6: Employees of currency note printing press, India Security Press (ISP) and Currency Note Press (CNP) have demanded salaries under 7th pay commission. Employees of ISP which now belongs to the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd. have been reportedly told that they will not be entitled to salaries under the 7th pay commission.

ISP and CNP have been major participants in printing the new currency notes post the demonetisation announcement. But they have raised their voice as reportedly they were exempted from 7th pay commission. As reported in The Times of India, Satish Nikam, ISP working committee member said, ” We were told that we will not get seventh pay commission as we now belong to the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd. But, since we are still getting central dearness allowance, we are eligible for seventh pay commission.

The government issued the notification for the implementation of the 7th pay commission in July 2016. While under the new notification minimum pay of central government employees have been raised from Rs. 7,000 to s. 18,000, the central government employees are demanding it to be raised from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 26,000.

7th pay commission has been under flakes for various such issues. As per now, no report have arrived in regard to the demands of ISP and CNP employees. But in regard to other issues of 7th pay commission, NJAC might protest. Reportedly, High Level Committee has not taken any decision to address the issues which have been raised.
